As your Mayor I will fight to:
End and Reduce Crimes in and around our City and Neighborhoods.
Increase Economic Development
while ensuring Responsible Growth.
Strengthen Fire, Police and Sanitation Services.
Ensure that our children are Safe in and out of Schools and around
College Campuses and fix our badly needed Homeless Problem.
Protect our Homes, Businesses, Parks and Venues.
Improve City Infrastructure.
Reduce the burden on taxpayers.
Ensure Open and responsive Government.
Personal Note
As a former law enforcement officer who recently resigned to run for mayor to do something about crime, I have a story to tell. I understand people, I understand law enforcement and I understand what it takes to make our city great. I know there are many of you out there along with my fellow officers and those in law enforcement who are eager to assist me in achieving these goals. There is noting like having someone in office who understands the nature and culture of the issues and challenges that we face in law enforcement, public safety, and we the people as citizens, taxpayers are facing on our streets, in our schools, in our neighborhoods and communities and no one is better prepared to take on these challenges than myself.
Atlanta is not unique to the problems that we're facing, it's happening throughout the country. I believe we can all benefit as we move to implement a blueprint to combat the problems that we're facing throughout our country. We're all in this thing together, a problem here or there is potentially a problem everywhere. So regardless who we are, where we're from or where we live, I'm asking you for your support.
Police officers, public safety, and law enforcement officials, and like minded citizens are the fabric of any decent and thriving community. They are the ones who keep our cities and communities safe. Should we mention that we were no longer coming out do our jobs, you could only imagine what would happen. I'm confident that as your next mayor, with a little help from our city council members and our courts we will do great things.
Public Trust is of the upmost important factors in this field, and I know that our officers feel that way as well. Whenever an officer gets in trouble on the job, most of the time the initial intent for whatever situation he or she gets him or herself into were good. However when it is all said and done, and we find ourselves on the other side of the law or in unfavorable lighting, we all feel it as well. It's is a sad and unfortunate event for all of us because it castes a dark shadow on all who wears the uniform. Under my administration I will try to do my best to prevent these things from occurring. It's a new day now and change is on the way.
